Dutch Celebrity Amanda Krabbé takes off on Sea Shepherd mission!

In December the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society will start its 7th campaign in Antarctica. For operation No Compromise Sea Shepherd ships and crew will return to the Southern Ocean to once again intervene against illegal Japanese whaling activities in the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary.

Dutch celebrity Amanda Krabbé will be joining the fleet throughout the complete journey and will hand the Dutch flag to the captain of the 'Bob Barker'. The Bob Barker is one of Sea Shepherd's anti-whaling ships which has been sailing under the Dutch flag since may 2010.

At HoodLamb we've outfitted Amanded into HoodLamb x Sea Shepherd wear making sure she'll be fully prepared for this Arctic adventure. Her flight leaves tomorrow and we'd all like to wish her a great journey!

Team Rider News: Daily Dale makes it 35 years in a row!

Last month Dale Webster from Valley Ford, Northern California, surfed for the 12.784th consecutive day in a row! This incredible streak started out with a beautiful swell on September 3rd, 1975 that lasted for days on end. Dale surfed every day of this swell and decided he wanted to find out how long he could keep the streak going. It started with a string of days in a row, then months in a row and now years in a row, culminating to 35 years last month!

Car trouble, kidney stones and encounters of the sharky kind are only some of the obstacles Dale has had to overcome to keep his streak alive. On February 29th, 2004 Dale reached his original goal of surfing 8 leap years in a row, or 10,407 days. But instead of calling it quits, he just kept on surfing. Throughout the years Dale's streak has had quite some coverage in the (surf) media and Dale is even recognized in the Guinness Book of World Records for most consecutive days surfed.

Surfing every single day since the mid Seventies has made Dale some sort of human time capsule, conserving the stoke and Aloha spirit from that special time in surfing with each wave ridden. Dale takes pride in having developed a special technique to roll waves, resulting in not having to deliberately ditch his board for years. And he will always prefer sharing waves over hogging waves. Since the start of the streak, a lot of things have changed, but Dale Webster hasn't changed a thing.
Surfing every day will do that to you.
