On the 15th of July, EDI productions and the Melkweg organize a special night dedicated to artists from New Zealand. In the past these Dutch ambassadors of New Zealand music organised sold out shows for Fat Freddy's Drop, Black Seeds and Shapeshifter. LADI6 ft. PARKS & JULIEN DYNE
Ladi6 and her companion, beatmaker/vocalist Parks had a succesfull tour last year in Europe. This year they’re comming twice as hard and combined forces with beatmaker, producer/drummer Julien Dyne, on their 2011 European tour. Bringing us soulfull hiphop with a funkin' reggae edge. Ladi6 just released her 2nd album, The Liberation Off....
ELECTRIC WIRE HUSTLE
Developed their own sound and twist on modern hip hop, psychedelic and soul. Electric Wire Hustle's unique sound challenges genre boundaries and preconceptions. The music of EWH reaches forward while referencing key points of the music's past. EWH is like a warm blanked of sounds. Thick drums, hints of the Fender Rhodes and nylon stringed guitars will have your neck snapping while your ear cranes to the evocative vocals of Mara TK.
Is a Wellington based producer, dj and audio engineer. He is the official sound tech for future soul band Electric Wire Hustle. Benny also set up his own professional audio engineering facility. His debut album, Chrysalis, featuring leading artist from NZ has just been released in Europe via BBE records.
A trumpet player, producer, vocalist and dj with a passion for soul, funk, r&b, jazz and electronic music. He has been an integral member of New Zealand's renowned bands as Solaa, Opensouls, The Tornadoes, Eru Dangerspiel and Recloose Live. Together with his brother he just released an album as the Karlmarx project on Melting Pot records.
