Arrested for planting hemp seeds? But even George was a hemp farmer!!

Hemp, one of mama Earths most eco-friendly and versatile crops, is still illegal to grow in many countries. For example, the US government does not differentiate between industrial hemp and marijuana. Hey, there is actually a difference between these two, even though they are sister plants. Industrial Hemp is solely grown for its fiber (oh, and I forgot the 25.000 other uses) and contains a hardly noticeable level of THC – it couldn’t make you high if you smoked it…you’re better off smoking green tea. Therefore, time to cease this irrational argument that industrial Hemp is bad. An argument based on emotion and conservative thinking, not reason.  

Luckily there is progress thanks to a network of brave hemp warriors. Newly a troop of Hemp farmers, business owners and Vote Hemp representatives planted industrial Hemp seeds on the DEA headquarters lawn and got arrested. Check out the clip!

Did you know…the US Library of Congress provides first-hand accounts in George Washington’s own handwriting that he was a Hemp farmer. If George Washington were alive today he would be arrested and would be arrested and would be locked up for the thousands of kilos of non-drug Hemp he grew. He would face up to 40 years in prison and $1,000,000 in fines. As a felon, he would lose his right to vote and run for political office. Also, he would face up to life in prison for his hemp farms and be fined up to $4,000,000 if convicted for the same offense by the federal government.

What’s the fuzz about?! Even the Pope wore Dope!

WASHINGTON, DC — This is a real story that occurred this week - Vote Hemp legislative assistant Ben Droz was shocked when Capitol Police seized his samples of industrial hemp fiber that he needed for a scheduled presentation to congressional staffers. Police refused to release the fiber after the search, while saying they knew it had no drug value and was "just hemp." The group of officers decided they needed to confiscate all the hemp seeds because no food was allowed, but the hemp fiber was also seized even though it is not food. "I just want to throw this out," said one officer, who ultimately did

Mr. Droz explained to police that the items were being used to illustrate the environmental properties of hemp. "This is just another example of the confusion between Industrial Hemp, an important crop for farmers across the country, and marijuana, a distant cousin also from the Cannabis family." The United States is the only developed country that does not recognize the distinction between the two varieties. Power of Hemp!

Reading Google News, I stumbled across an article on how eco-concerns are forcing the textile industry to go green. Slowly the textile giants in Asia are turning towards eco-friendly production methods, urged by the consumer demand for organic clothing.

By buying organic clothing, food and furniture, we are indirectly pressuring the industries to change their production methods. The producers of our foods & clothes need to change their polluting ways into eco-friendly production methods in order to fulfill market demands. And looking for solutions for this positive change, they are moving towards hemp!

"15 years ago, Chinese entrepreneur H.L. Ding already had his sights set on homegrown hemp, a 4,000-year-old fibre used in sails for old ships that he describes as the "fabric of the future."

Strong, resistant, in need of little water or care, and no fertilisers, "it is a very special plant, the strongest of the natural fibres, even better than linen."

"We believe organic cotton and hemp will be the main direction in the future."

It's a fact: our industries are driven by consumer demand. It's great to read that by choosing hemp and organic cotton, we really have an influence on the textile industry and are forcing them to produce in an earth-friendly way. Power to the Hemp!
