This Saturday, Aloha is organising a Fancy Dress Surf competition at Hollands' best surf spot Wijk aan Zee. All surfers are invited to join the competition! This is a benefit event of which all proceeds will be donated to the cancer foundation. HoodLamb is sponsoring the event and hopes to see you there tomorrow!
Sea Shepherd's high-tech inceptor vessel the Brigitte Bardot is in Amsterdam for a short visit! Get on board and imagine life on the Oceans, see the amazing features of this stream-lined ship and meet up with the crew to hear their amazing stories.The Brigitte Bardot just finished successful campaigns in the Mediterranean and Faroe Islands and is preparing for new missions in Antarctica. We stopped by yesterday and had a great time meeting up with the volunteers and crew!
The Brigitte Bardot is now harbored at the NDSM wharf and will move to the Javakade on Monday.

HoodLamb & Sea Shepherd
In South Africa exists a stigma between surfers and sharks since the first surfers entered it’s coastal waters, in search of riding epic swell conditions. Every year shark encounters / attacks occur, creating strong optinions from all sides constantly surrounding the issue which are fueled by news, media and the general public on a local and international level.
This documentary goes up close with Pro Surfers Lungani and Andrew, 2 local surfers that live in and around wild coast. It portraits their history and involvement in the surfing industry and their ideas about shark attacks / encounters in their daily life. Backed with a A-List panel of shark specialists, the film aims to inform and educate the viewer to bridge the gap between myth and reality.

After meeting up with the Sea Shepherd crew and hearing more about their upcoming missions, we've decided to augment our donations to Sea Shepherd! After the succesful ending of operation No Compromise (with Japanese whaling ships returning to their harbours and ceasing their whale hunt), Captain Paul Watson and Laurens de Groot from Sea Shepherd are now travelling through Europe to meet up with volunteers and partners.
We met up at the HoodLamb office to catch up and discuss future plans. It was great to see Paul and Laurens and also met up at the Vondelpark to hear more about their courageous missions and fascinating on-board stories.
Big news for this coming Fall/Winter is the release of a sophisticated Sea Shepherd Pea Coat (in stores as of late September) and a new Surfers for Sea Shepherd T-Shirt design! We will of course inform you as soon as these are available.
