Last week the Surffrenzy, Holland's craziest surf contest, was held once again at our beloved beach in Wijk aan Zee.
During the Surffrenzy all contestants surf a 30 minute heat in which they can showcase their talents.
HoodLamb team riders Martijn Nijhof and Stef Bakker in action.
The categories are shortboard men, longboard men, ladies, grommets and retro, all surfing together in mixed heats with the best two waves being counted.
The level of surfing is always quite high, but the fun factor is at least equally important, with extra prizes being awarded for “biggest kook,” and “best wipe-out”.
This year's Frenzy was blessed with good waves for Dutch standards and bright skies with plenty of sunshine. Christoffer Hartkopp, one of Denmark's best surfers, drove down from Denmark and took home the win in the men's shortboard division. Pommeline van Vliet won the ladies' division.
Both of them received brand new surfboards sponsored by Ozlines who also organized the event.
HoodLamb took care of the second & third price winners in the Shortboard & Ladies' division; Congratulations to Jappe Meijssing and Maartje Mulder who both went home with a brand new HoodLamb jacket!
Special thanks goes out to the Heemies and all other volunteers and sponsors who made this a great day at the beach!
